Where were you when the pandemic shut down the world?
We were nearly stranded on a ship floating off the coast of Australia, made it home by the skin of our teeth on the last flight to the states, and during our 14-day quarantine upon arriving home, I digitally painted Birb, the bird with a welcome home to quarantine-martini.
Spending just over 50 hours individually painting each strand on every feather was an incredible challenge and learning experience for my digital art & design. Inspired by a bird we met in the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Birb became a symbol for life in the early pandemic days.
